Something beautiful for when the world becomes ugly.
When the world becomes ugly, it can be hard to see the beauty. To my friends, family, and people of the world sitting on the edge of their seats right now—I feel you. I’m with you. My heart is breaking with you.
This passage from CG Jung’s Aion seems terribly relevant right now:
“It is often tragic to see how blatantly a man bungles his own life and the lives of others yet remains totally incapable of seeing how much the whole tragedy originates in himself, and how he continually feeds it and keeps it going. Not consciously, of course—for is engaged in bewailing and cursing a faithless world that recedes further and further into the distance. Rather it is an unconscious factor which spins the illusions that veil his world. And what is being spun is a cocoon, which in the end will completely envelop him.”
With that said—here are a few things I find beautiful. Because when the world is ugly—the only respite I find is grieving the losses while seeing that beauty still exists.
This is duality.
Much love,

P.s. Part 3 of ChatGPT vs Your Human Brain will come out next week. You can read Part 1 and Part 2 here. Thank you to those who’ve check in with me this week.
I
Morning sunlight, puppy-sitting, mushroom circles, raindrops on succulents, light through the leaves, the ever-flowing river, spring flowers, the crashing waves of the ocean.

II
A mellow lofi track with a light-filled room full of plants.
III
More morning sunlight, a tree hugging the river, a big blue sky, the swirling beauty of the Australian outback, mist over the river, a numberplate that says NUTT JB, soft sweet blades of grass.

Until next time, stay well, I love you, thanks for reading. 💜

Renee, this was so lovely!
I really liked the Jung quote.
I really really liked “rain drops on succulents” (and the accompanying photos).
And I really really really liked “a number plate that says Nutt Jb” — that was gold.
Thanks Renee :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH
