One evening I was sitting on the couch with my laptop, tapping away in my journal. I was pouring out my thoughts when—
A second voice emerged that was not my own.
Dowsed by fright—and great curiosity—I ventured on.
What happened next changed the trajectory of my mental health forever. Because that evening I was introduced to a deeper side of myself—I’ll call it the unconscious1 for now.
It’s the part of me that has no fear.
The part of me that can solve all my problems.
The part of me that sees the world in the way that only I can.
It all came bubbling up that evening.
Below I’ve recorded pretty much word for word what came into my consciousness (fixed for spelling, not fixed for punctuation).
Take what you will from the words—apply them to your own life. And if you find it soothing—tap into your own voice. You might be surprised at what you find.
Word of warning: mentions mental health, spirituality, might bend your reality a bit
